This week on “American Idol” the top 10 take the stage for Disney Week.  The judges get things started off with a little help from some of the Disney characters including Mickey and Mini Mouse.

This week the show is simulcast in all three time zones with real time voting.  At the end of the show two singers will go home.

The judge’s save is back this season, but it can only be used one time during the season and the judge’s decision must be unanimous.

Rebel Wilson is the celebrity mentor this week.

After Lionel saved him last week, Uche, who got a big surprise from his mom and sister, gets the night of music started.  He chose “Eye to Eye” from “The Goofy Movie” for his performance.  None of the judges seemed to know the song.  Goofy came out on stage to express his thoughts on the performance.

Laci Kaye Booth chose “I See the Light” from “Tangled” for her performance.

Alejandro Aranda put his own spin on “Remember Me” from “Coco”.  After telling Rebel that he didn’t know the lyrics, Alejandro gave his own arrangement of the song.

Katy Perry save Alyssa Raghu was surprised by her family at Disneyland.  She chose “Colors of the Wind” from “Pocahontas”.

Lea Michele takes the stage for a performance of music from “The Little Mermaid” and is joined by the top 10.

Wade Cota sang “You Got a Friend in Me” from “Toy Story”.

Luke’s save Dimitrius Graham got a big surprise from his mom who has been very ill.  He sang “You’ll Be in My Heart” from “Tarzan”.   After the very emotional performance Katy came up on the stage and gave Dimitrius a hug.

Walker Burroughs chose “When She Loved Me” from “Toy Story 2” and chose to play the piano as he sang with only a cello playing with him.  Lionel called it as close to a perfect performance as he has ever seen.

Idol sweethearts last season’s winner and runner up Maddie Poppy and Caleb Lee Hutchinson performed “A Whole New World” from “Aladdin”.

Madison Vandenburg chose “How Far I’ll Go” from “Moana” for her performance.

Laine Hardy got surprised by his sister in Disneyland this week.  He chose the song “OO-De-Lally” from “Robin Hood” and had the audience clapping and stomping along.

Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon closes out the night of Disney songs with “Candle on the Water” from “Pete’s Dragon”.  Jeremiah was surprised by his sister this week.  It was the first time that any of his family has come to see him.

Now that all of the performances are over, it is time for the first real time results…
Laine is the first person to make it into the top eight
Madison is also in the top eight
Alejandro has made it to the top eight
Jeremiah is in the top eight
Walker Burroughs is in the top eight
Laci Kaye Booth is also coming back next week
Wade Cota has also survived to make it into the top eight
Uche, Alyssa, and Dimitrius remain with Alyssa Raghu taking the final spot in the top eight.

The judges chose not to save Uche or Dimitrius this week.  Lionel said that they were going to hold their vote for a later date.
