On December 8, Rochester’s own Melia brought her band to the Hard Rock Cafe in Niagara Falls for a performance of original rock music and cover tunes of music from Jimi Hendrix to the Foo Fighters.
Playing before an enthusiastic crowd – with one fan who kept calling out for the Lynyrd Skynyrd hit “Freebird” (there’s always one) – Melia’s set list included “Checking Out”, “Zero”, “Thinking of Her”, “I Just Wanna Make Love to You”, “Just a Bride”, “Creep”, “Best of You”, “VIP”, Purple Haze, a David Bowie medley, “Deep Waters”, “Today”, “Basketcase”, “Sleaze Parade”, “Breed”, “I Wanna Be Your Girl”, “Hey, Joe”, “Bats Beneath Moonlight”, “Charge Like a Buss”, “Only Happy When it Rains”, “Stay”, “Criminal” and “Soundproof Walls.
Melia also played a few acoustic songs in a solo performance to begin the second set that included “Nights in White Stain” and “Harvest Moon”.
