When “American Idol” ended on Sunday night, Luke was about to announce whether or not teen singers Casey Bishop and Alanis Sophia had made it into the top 24.

The show opens with a recap of the events from Sunday night with Luke revealing that Alanis Sophia and Casey Bishop both are in the top 24.

Willie Spence said that Hollywood Week has been a good experience for him. Wearing a black suit, he chose a Beyonce song for his showstopper performance and brought the judges to their feet. Lionel called it a powerful performance. Saying that he thinks Willie’s life is going to change in amazing ways, Luke told Willie that he is in the top 24.

Emisunshine chose the Janis Joplin hit “Piece of My Heart” for her showstopper performance. Telling her her performances need to be authentic, Emisunshine didn’t make the top 24.

Lizzy O’Very chose a Harry Styles song for her performance. Lizzie did not make it to the top 24.

Camille Lamb feels that she has the full package as an artist and chose “Feel Like Making Love” for her performance. Katy announced that Camille failed to make the top 24. She feels that Idol made a mistake; adding that she thinks she could have won it all.

After forgetting the lyrics during the duets, Mary Jo Young chose a James Bay song for her showstopper performance and redeemed herself by remembering the words. Telling Mary Jo that she needs to own the stage, Luke told her that she is in the top 24.

Hunter Metts is filled with self doubt but really wants to make music a part of his life. At his first audition, Katy told him that he is a top 10 performer. After taking a risk in his showstopper performance, Luke told Hunter that he is a part of the top 24. Luke told Hunter to keep pushing.

Mom Althea Grace chose a Beatles song for her showstopper performance. Katy said that they have seen so much growth in Althea but she felt the showstopper song was the wrong choice. Katy told Althea that she did not make it to the top 24.

Ronda and Funke had an unforgettable duet when Funke passed out during the remarks. She has three stitches after hitting her chin. Funke chose a Nat King Cole song for her showstopper performance and Ronda chose a Stevie Wonder song for her performance. Neither one of the girls made it to the top 24.

Grace Kinstler chose “Father” by Demi Lovato for her showstopper performance but later second guessed her song choice. She brought the judges to their feet and had Lionel calling it powerful. Luke noted that it wasn’t her best. Katy noted that feeling a song is important, but you have to choose the right songs. Grace made it to the top 24.

Deshawn Goncalves chose to play the keyboard and sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” for his showstopper performance. Lionel noted that Deshawn has been on a rollercoaster his entire life; adding that Deshawn’s journey has brought tears to his eyes. Lionel told Deshawn that he is in the top 24.

Former boy bander Colin Jamieson took a chance in his showstopper performance with a song from Fall Out Boy while playing the keyboard. Katy was bouncing hin her chair during the performance. Lionel was excited over the song. Katy said that Colin surprised them with his performance which included pulling out his ponytail. After taking a big chance Katy revealed that Colin is in the top 24.

The youngest singers in the competition Ava August and Laila Mach both took chances in their showstopper performances; Laila chose an Alica Keys song, while Ava chose to perform an acoustic original song with just her and her guitar. Luke called Ava interesting. Katy said that Laila’s voice is getting better and better but she did not make it to the top 24. Katy told Ava that the song wasn’t there yet but she is a part of the top 24.

Nia Renee chose a Sam Cook song for her showstopper performance but it was not enough to get her into the top 24.

Hawaiian Lliahona Olayan has struggled since her brother was eliminated in the genre round. She chose a Megan Trainor song for her showstopper performance and brought the judges to their feet. Luke noted that they see a lot in Lliahona; adding that she is in the top 24.

Madison Watkins chose a James Brown song and Alana chose “Bust the Windows” for their showstopper performances. Lionel told Madison that she did a great job and is in the top 24. Alana is also in the top 24.

Anilee List also made it into the top 24 after her showstopper performance of “Ain’t Nobody” by Rufus and Chaka Kahn.

And then there were two singers remaining…but only one open spot. Drake McCain chose a Luke Bryan song for his showstopper performance and had Luke up dancing. Cecil Ray sang a Leon Bridges song.
