With the start of the 2019 NASCAR season less than a month away, team owners are frantically working to complete their teams and get their cars on the track for testing.

On January 10, car owner BJ McLeod of BJ McLeod Motorsports announced that he is expanding his Xfinity Series team from two cars to three. Two of the teams will have a single driver, but the third team will employ a variety of drivers throughout the season.

Vinnie Miller will continue the driving duties in the number 78 car after signing a multi year deal last September.

Speaking on Miller, BJ McLeod said, “Vinnie did a great job coming on board the last six races of last year. We are ready to repeat and this time, it will be for a full season.”

Matt Mills will be behind the wheel of the number eight car. The 22 year old has driven in the Gander Outdoor Truck Series and the Xfinity Series.

Speaking on Mills, McLeod said, “we’re thrilled to be working with Matt again this year. He is a very hard-working young man with lots of talent. Our goal for the year is to work together to create a solid foundation for this season and beyond.”

For the 99 car, McLeod will employ a number of drivers including McLeod himself, Tommy Joe Martins, JA Avila Jr.
