It has been 20 years since the comedic racing film “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” made its debut.

In celebration of that event, NASCAR is planning Dega-Con – a month long event that will culminate in the triple header weekend of racing at Talladega Superspeedway October 23 to 25.

Still in the planning stages, NASCAR is looking to mix entertainment, nostalgia and pop culture to create a memorable experience for the fans.

Further details will be released in the coming weeks.

A video has appeared describing “Talladega Nights Withdrawal Syndrome” – a condition that can only be cured by  the Dega-Con.  Cup Series drivers Chase Briscoe, Noah Gragson, Ross Chastain, Ryan Preece and Riley Herbst are all a part of the video.

Starring Will Ferrell, “Talladega Nights” tells the story of the NASCAR driver named Ricky Bobby – somewhat dimwitted race car driver.

Characters and paint schemes from the film have appeared on various cars over the past 20 years.
