I’m a night owl. I’m with Snoopy on being allergic to mornings – well, early ones anyway.
When I was a kid my mother gave me a pennant of Lucy and it said “I’m frustrated, inhibited, and no one understands me”. She said it described me.
What a thing to give a kid!
But when it comes down to it, I’m the female version of Charlie Brown.
I have days that make Charlie Brown look like a “stable genius”!
Charlie Brown’s self esteem is about the same level as his baseball batting average. I can identify with that.
And it seems like he can never do anything right or good enough…boy, do I know how that feels!
Charles Schultz creation of “The Peanuts” displayed a number of different characters with the various personalities of kids with those who were insecure – Charlie Brown and Linus with his blanket – all the way up to the know-it-all bully – Lucy. Kids we have all had to encounter and deal with over the years.
Ever confident, Snoopy was far from the typical loyal dog and provided plenty of comic relief amongst all the angst.
Schroder was always Schroder – the consummate musician who saw the beauty in the music; especially if it was Ludwig von Beethoven.

Schroder was always Schroder – the consummate musician who saw the beauty in the music; especially if it was Ludwig von Beethoven.
But Charlie Brown became the center of the gang; not for being the best friend or greatest player; but for being just the opposite – someone we could all identify with…even if we did have an ego the size of Lucy van Pelt with her Psychology help booth for five cents.
