The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series gets a full day of racing activities started early on Saturday morning with practice and qualifying before the race later today.

Thirty-eight teams brought cars to the Monster Mile of Dover Motor Speedway for 38 starting spots with Ross Chastain driving the JR Motorsports number nine car.

The drivers get a full 50 minute practice session before they qualify.

NASCAR laid down resin – the “sticky stuff” – on the track earlier in the week.

Garrett Smithley is making race start number 300.

Taylor Gray topped the leaderboard in single lap times with a time of 23.749 seconds.

The first driver on the track to make a qualifying run is Logan Bearden who posted a time of 224.912 seconds around the one mile track.

Daivid Starr will not be making a qualifying run after having a mechanical issue.  He will start the race from the back of the field.

With a time of 23.627 seconds, Ross Chastain puts the JR Motorsports number nine car on the pole with Brandon Jones starting alongside on the fron row.

Justin Allgaier is the only driver in the field who has won a race at Dover.

Stages one and two of the race are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps for a total of 200 laps around the one mile track.

Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the outside lane with Brandon Jones alongside.  Brandon Jones edges out for the lead but Ross Chastain comes up to take the lead.

Lap three, the top five are Ross Chastain, Brandon Jones, Rajah Caruth, Taylor Gray, and Corey Day.

Lap six, Corey Day has dropped two spots with a loose car.

Lap seven, Ross Chastain holds a quarter of a second lead on Brandon Jones; Taylor Gray, Rajah Caruth, and Sam Mayer round out the top five.

Lap nine, Parker Retzlaff has advanced 13 spots in eight laps including some three wide racing.

The caution flag comes out on lap eleven when Jeb Burton gets into the wall.  Parker Retzlaff is also stopped on the track with the window net down.  Brent Crews has some damage to his car after contact with Ryan Sieg.

Jeb Burton checked up to avoid hitting Sieg or Crews; causing a wreck with Parker Retzlaff and Lavar Scott.

Parker Retzlaff is out of the race.

Lap 20, the top five are Brandon Jones, Ross Chastain, Sam Mayer, Taylor Gray, and Rajah Caruth.

At 82 degrees, the temperatures are the same as they were in Dover las July.

Lap 27, Brandon Jones has a half second lead on Ross Chastain; Sam Mayer, Taylor Gray, and Rajah Caruth round out the top five.

Lavar Scott takes his car to the garage with a mechanical issue.  David Starr and Jeb Burton are also multiple laps down with Parker Retzlaff out of the race.  There are 33 cars on the lead lap.

With seven laps remaining in stage one, leader Brandon Jones has begun lapping slower traffic.

Austin Green and CJ McLaughlin were caught speeding on pit road and will have to restart the race form the back of the longest line.

Lap 55, the top five are Ross Chastain, Taylor Gray, Rajah Caruth, Corey Day, and Jesse Love.

Lap 60, the caution flag comes out when Blaine Perkins has a bad crash; backing into the wall hard.

Lap 69, the top five are Ross Chastain, Taylor Gray, Rajah Caruth, Jesse Love, and Corey Day.

Lap 74, Ross Chastain has a lead of over half a second on Rajah Caruth; Taylor Gray, Jesse Love, and Carson Kvapil round out the top five.

Lap 79, Rajah Caruth is slowly closing the gap on teammate and leader Ross Chastain who is now just half a second out in front of the field.

With nine laps remaining in stage two, Rajah Caruth is running some of the fastest laps in the race and is now less than half a second behind leader Ross Chastain.

With just five laps remaining in stage two, Rajah Caruth has caught leader Ross Chastain.

Ross Chastain is the new leader.

With a stage of 110 laps, the drivers will have to make a pit stop during stage three to make it to the end of the race.

Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 106 with William Sawalich alongside.  Chatain holds on to the lead but Sawalich comes back to take the lead.

Lap 108, the top five are William Sawalich, Ross Chastain, Taylor Gray, Corey Day, and Sam Mayer.  Justin Allgaier has moved up to just outside the top five in sixth place.

Harrison Burton and Rajah Caruth make contact to bring out the caution flag on lap 112.   Sammy Smith comes up on the inside for a three way battle, getting Caruth loose and into Burton.

Noting a change in balance and a “kickback” in the brake pedal, Justin Allgaier is the only driver to come down pit road during the caution.

William Sawalich brings the field down for the green flag restart with Ross Chastain alongside on lap 118.  Sawalich holds on to the lead as Ross Chastain and Taylor Gray battle for second.

The seventh caution flag of the race comes out with 81 laps remaining in the race after Taylor Gray and Ross Chastain make contact.  Sam Mayer makes contact with Gray, sending him into the wall.  Chastain hit the wall and kept going.

The top five are William Sawalich, Sam Mayer, Carson Kvapil, Corey Day, and Brandon Jones.

With 62 laps to go, Justin Allgaier has pulled out to a near one second lead on William Sawalich; Corey Day, Sam Mayer, and Harrison Burton round out the top five.

With 57 laps to go, Sam Mayer and Corey Day battle for third with Mayer taking the spot; Justin Allgaier continues to lead the race with a one second lead on William Sawalich.

Fifty to go, Justin Allgaier holds on to a one second lead on William Sawalich; Sam Mayer, Corey Day, and Brandon Jones round out the top five.

Sam Mayer has a hole in the nose of his car; but it isn’t hurting him, he is running the fastest laps on the track.

With 46 laps to go, Justin Allgaier has encountered   large group of slower traffic.

There are 25 cars on the lead lap.

The caution flag comes out when Garrett Smithley has a blown tire and has some significant damage to the rear of his car after getting into the wall.

Austin Green is the only driver who has a set of sticker tires remaining.

Four to go, Corey Day passes Justin Allgaier for the lead as they pass a slower car.
