Social media has been abuzz with the announcement that the long awaited new album from award-winning entertainer Barry Manilow is finally arriving on June 5.

“What a Time” is the first album featuring mostly new material since the release of “15 Minutes” in 2011.

His 33rd studio album, “What a Time” includes duet with Lady Flash member Muffy Hendrix and Dave Koz appears on the album.

Along with the announcement of the new album, a video for the song “Sun Shine” was released.  The upbeat song was written by Manilow and Gary Barlow of “Take That”.

The latest single “Once Before I Go” also appears on “What a Time”.  The song reached number 25 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart.  Since the appearance of “Mandy” in 1974, Manilow now has a history of over 50 years with the chart.

Prior to making it as an award-winning artist, Manilow made his mark by writing jingles; next month he will be presented the President’s Award from the American Advertising Federation.  He even turned those jingles into a medley he performed in his shows he called “A Very Strange Medley”.

Manilow’s other accolades include induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the BMI Icon Award, two Primetime Emmys, a Grammy, a Tony Award, and three American Music Awards.
