In 1975, it became the first of four albums for The Eagles to reach number one and it went on to be certified quadruple platinum for selling at least four million copies in the United States and earned the band their first Grammy Award for “Lyin’ Eyes”.

Now, The Eagles are releasing an expanded deluxe edition of “One of These Nights” in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the album’s release.

Set for a May 1 release, the new release will be available in a 3CD/Blu-ray,  3LP vinyl, and as a digital download.  The collection includes a remastered edition of the album and the 1975 Sunshine Festival concert from Anaheim Stadium.  The performance includes the first time that the cover of the Chuck Berry song “Carol” appears on an album.

The Blu-ray that comes with the CD release features the album and concert in Dolby Atmos and high-resolution stereo.

The Sunshine Festival performance was the final show Bernie Leadon who would be replaced a few months later by Joe Walsh.  Walsh joined the band on stage during the encore for a performance of his song “Rocky Mountain Way”.

Holding down two of the top three spots on the Diamond Award list, The Eagles “Greatest Hits 1971-1975” sits in the number one spot with 40 million units sold in the United States alone.  Their “Hotel California” album sits in the number three spot with 28 million.

The RIAA certifies an album Diamond when it reaches 10 million copies sold.
