After receiving a somewhat backhanded invitation to attend the State of the Union address, the gold medal winning women’s hockey team declined the invitation citing other obligations.
Rap artist and hype man for the Team USA bobsled and skeleton team Flava Fav has extended an invitation of his own for the women’s hockey team join him in Las Vegas to celebrate their gold medal win. Team USA beat Team Canada 2 to 1 in overtime to win the gold medal at the Milan Cortina Olympics.
Flava Fav said via social media, “if the USA Women’s Hockey team wants a real celebration and invite, I’ll host them in Las Vegas. Do some nice dinners and shows and good times.”
He added, “I’m sure I can get a hotel and airline to help me out here and celebrate these women for real for real. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾”
Flava Fav noted that he was inviting the bobsled and skeleton team too.
A father of four daughters, Flava Fav believes “celebrating women’s sports is a compulsory part of his fandom.”
After the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, he brought the women’s water polo team for a Las Vegas celebration. He also helped fund the team in Paris.
Speaking via social media on the water polo team Flava Fav said, “brought some of the Team USA Water Polo Women out to Vegas,,, imma so proud of all these women. Look at all the support and attention brought to this sport and women’s athletics. We changing the game and that is something BIG to celebrate.”
In a 2024 interview with “People” Flava Fav said, “there’s a lot of women, I’m saying that all they want is just a chance. And all they want to do is feel like they got a chance. So I just wanted to help out, and help give women that chance that they are looking for.”
