Long running productions on Broadway and Off-Broadway have frequent cast member changes.

Such is the case for the revival of “Ragtime” when Julie Benko takes over the role of Emma Goldman beginning January 6.  Shaina Taub is currently in that role.

Benko will remain in the role through March 29.

Taking a leave of absence from the role, Taub will return on March 31.  Taub recently took to social media to explain that while trying to have a baby, she has had three miscarriages and her body needs some time to heal and recoup.

Currently Benko is portraying Sarah Brown in Washington D.C. and will be leaving the role early to take over for Taub.

“Ragtime” has announced a number of other cast changes…
Ellie May Sennett will be taking over the role of the Little Girl beginning January 6.  Aerina Deboer will be the understudy.
Paul Slade Smith will take the role of the Grandfather beginning January 13 until February 8 with Tom Nelis returning on February 10.
Tim Semon will take over Production Manager beginning February 4.

“Ragtime” has extended their limited engagement run until June 14.

“Ragtime” had an official opening on October 16 after previews began on September 26.
