Rob Lake opened his special magic show on Broadway to previews on October 28 with an official opening on November 6. Along with his assistants and guests were some very special guests – members of The Muppets – Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy,Gonzo the Great, and Fozzie Bear.
Stars of television and film, the performance with Rob Lake was the Broadway debut for The Muppets.
But even the popularity of The Muppets weren’t enough; the show was originally scheduled to run. Through January 18 but is now set to close this month with the final performance on Sunday, November 16.
No official reason was given for the show’s closing but finances are the number on cause of a show’s eaarly closing.
Lake originally took the TV watching public by storm on the competition show “America’s Got Talent” in 2018 and later toured the world with his magic show and was a magic and creative consultant on a number of productions including “Death Becomes Her”. He is also the recipient of the International Stage Magician of the Year.
