There is an expression that says there are only two guaranteed in life – death and taxes.  Well,  from 1974 – 1978 there was something else that was a guarantee – Frank Zappa would be performing in New York City and he would celebrate his favourite holiday with a wild performance on October 31.

Now after over 45 years of languising in The Vault, the master tapes are seeing the light of day with a 5CD Super Deluxe Costume box set of the 1978 Halloween performance filled with over three hours of music.

The music has been remixed and deposited into a “devilishly cool” box for an October 24 release.  And included in the collection is the October 27, 1978 performance.  A book accompanies the set with Zappa as the devil on the front in mask and holding a pitch fork with a UV light – the light holds a secret.

Two separate vinyl albums and a single CD are also being released that will feature excerpts from the Halloween show and will come with some booklets filled with photos and artwork.  A digital download of the entire show is also being offered.

All versions of the Halloween show collections are available now for pre-order on frankzappa.com.
