The Ford Motor Company’s Ford Performance sponsors race car drivers in a wide variety of series the world over.  Bringing it all together under a single name, Ford has rebranded their racing enterprises as Ford Racing!

The great-great-grandson of Ford creator Henry Ford, Will Ford said in a blog, “in 1901, my great-great-grandfather, Henry Ford, drove a car he built called “Sweepstakes” in a race against the most famous driver in America. He wasn’t a racer. But he had to win. If he lost that day, Ford Motor Company might not exist.

“He won.”

“Under one global Ford Racing banner, our engineers and designers will develop our performance road cars right alongside our race cars. The technology that survives the Baja 1000 will be in the DNA of the next F-150 Raptor. The aerodynamic lessons we learn at Daytona and Le Mans will be sculpted into the body of the next Mustang.”

He added, “Starting today, you will see our new identity roll out. The full force of Ford Racing will be unleashed in January when we kick off the new season at the Dakar Rally, the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and our own Season Launch event.”

“This is so much more than a simple name change. This is the reintroduction of our racing brand and signals a completely new way of thinking about the business, brand, and products that our racing efforts bring to life.”

“Under one global leader, our super-talented engineers, designers and aerodynamicists will find innovative solutions for the track and bring them to our road products – and vice versa.  This dedication extends beyond the paved track; the lessons learned in grueling desert races directly inform the engineering of our performance off-road vehicles like the F-150 Raptor.”

He concluded, “we don’t just go to races. We go to win.”

The Ford Mustang can be found in IMSA with the Mustang GT3, Mustang GT4, and Mustang Dark Horse R; with the Ford Mustang GT3 winning the treasured Rolex watch trophy in the 2025 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.

Ford said, “the Blue Oval will be in front of a global audience like never before, at venues as diverse as F1, Dakar, Le Mans, Bathurst and Daytona. And we are going in with the same goal we always have at Ford… to win them all. After all, we are America’s race team!”

Ford noted that everything being done will also benefit Ford customers in the best products, technologies, and experiences.
