As the 2025 racing season winds down, team owners begin looking toward next year and a new season; which can include some major changes from manufacturers, to drivers, and even racing series.
Bryan Herta Autosport has announced that it will be entering the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the LMP2 category for a full season run next season.
Driving Hyundais, BHA has earned multiple championships in TCR. The LMP2 category is not only a natural progression for teams; but is a highly competitive series and provides a whole new group of challenges.
Co-owner and Team President Bryan Herta spoke on the move saying, “our entry into the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is vital for building our foundation for the future. The LMP2 platform gives us the opportunity to develop our personnel and systems in a way that prepares us to compete at the highest level. It’s the next logical step for our organization, and one that we’ve been planning for some time.”
He added, “we’re incredibly excited to take this leap forward while continuing our championship-winning efforts in the Michelin Pilot Challenge with Hyundai. We have accepted this new challenge with the clear objective to prepare ourselves with the focus on growth and learning, but I am excited to see how the program has come together, and I think we can also hope to achieve our share of success on track as well.”
BHA recently opened a “state-of-the-art” headquarters in Brownsburg, Indiana where it will serve as the hub for the new season of endurance racing in the LMP2 category.
BHA plans to debut their new program at the IMSA test this November at Daytona International Speedway.
Team personnel and drivers will be revealed in the coming weeks.
