What are you curious about?

For me that is a “loaded” question.

I enjoy learning things and often wonder about a lot of them…why and how with a few what’s thrown in.

I am an avid reader and read every day on my Kindle. One really cool thing about the Kindle is that I can highlight passages in the book. I have started making good use of the feature.

I recently finished a book that while fiction, it was filled with historical information about the Aztecs. Normally I have a very limited list of authors I read but this book caught my attention and I was very curious about what it was about. I am very glad I decided to get the book.

I also make use of the map feature on my ipad or phone to learn where places are in the books I read. Granted some books make up place names but most of the books I read take place in real place with real science and history; they just put a fictional story in the middle of it.

These books can really spark my interest and curiosity.

The world today in general can spark some curiosity with why things are the way they are? Are people really that gullible? Can people really be that ignorant?

Living in an area with a popular scenic tourist attraction, I sometimes go and “play tourist” and visit the attraction myself and marvel at the area; knowing that erosion has moved things over the years and continues to erode a few inches each year. In 12,000 years, it has moved something like seven miles! WOW! The power of water is amazing!

The old saying is that curiosity killed the cat…maybe, but it is a good thing for humans. As Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) always told his team in “NCIS: New Orleans” “go learn things!”
