Has it really been 50 years?
In 1970 three lads Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, and Dan Peek met in London. The sons of Air Force officers stationed in England, they were looking to form a band. In the search for a name, the brand name of the juke box in the corner caught their eye – America…and the horse had a name.
The trio released their fifth album “Hearts” in 1975 and on August 8 they will release a 50th anniversary edition of the album.
The expanded edition of the album includes thecoriginal album, five previously unissued alternate versions of songs, an acoustic version of “Old Virginia”, and a Spanish rendition of “Sister Golden Hair” (“Con Tu Pelo Tan Dorado”).
