The Grateful Dead have topped music charts, had millions of “bootleg” cassettes of their music passed around, and have fans who boast of their 100+ concert attendance.  But the one thing The Dead have never had is a Greatest Hits album…but that is about to change.

Celebrating 60 years of Grateful Dead music and Dead Head fans, The Dead will be releasing a “Greatest Hits” album on June 13.

The album will be available in a variety of formats including a smokey blue vinyl album and a CD.  A number of coloured vinyl variations exclusive to the retailer.

The album includes songs from the albums “Workingman’s Dead”, “American Beauty”, “From the Mars Hotel”, “Shakedown Street”, “Terrapin Station”, and “In the Dark”.

And for the avid Dead Head fan, a diamond anniversary 60 CD collection titled “Enjoying the Ride” is being released on May 30.  The collection is limited to 6,000 copies with each set individually numbered.  The collection is a cross country 25 year road trip of live performances.  Set in a custom keepsake box, the collection also features a tour guide.

With 2,318 concerts to their credit, the Dead NEVER played the same set twice!

The “Greatest Hits” album and the Diamond anniversary collection are available on dead.net.
