When NASCAR returns to Chicago this summer for the sport’s only street race, they will be bringing more than a few dozen race cars.  As a part of the festivities for the Independence Day weekend will be musical performances.

On March 3, NASCAR announced that the award winning Country band The Zac Brown band will give a full concert performance following the Xfinity Series race on Saturday night as a part of the Busch Light Summer Music Series.

Band leader Zac Brown spoke on the upcoming performance saying, “we’re thrilled to announce that Zac Brown Band will be performing at this summer’s NASCAR Chicago Street Race,” said Zac Brown. “It’s going to be an unreal weekend of racing and non-stop entertainment, so buckle up. You won’t want to miss NASCAR’s biggest party of the summer. Can’t wait to see you all in July!”

A first for NASCAR, the Busch Light Summer Music Series, features concerts after five races during the summer.  The other performances include Texas Motor Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Iowa Speedway, and World Wide Technology Raceway.

Head of Marketing, Busch Family & Natural Family at Anheuser-Busch Kyrstyn Stowe spoke on the music series saying, “at Busch Light, our Midwest fans are at the heart of everything we do, so bringing one of the biggest bands in country to a race in the iconic Midwest city of Chicago was a no-brainer.  With NASCAR, we’re shifting fan engagement into high gear, uniting two of race fans’ greatest passions: country music and cold, smooth Busch Light.”

All race tickets permit access to the concerts but NASCAR is offering exclusive VIP Concert Viewing add-ons, allowing a limited number of up-front access passes to view the concerts.

The President of NASCAR Chicago Street Race Julie Giese spoke on the Zac Brown Band saying, “Zac’s music is the soundtrack to summer, so we can’t think of a better band to headline on Independence Day Weekend.  Between the incredible skyline and the pristine shores of Lake Michigan, Zac Brown Band will make for one of the most iconic concert experiences of the summer, without a doubt.”

The Zac Brown Band is a three time Grammy Award winning band with over 30 million in record sales and over 11 billion streams.

“Sports Business Journal” calls the Chicago Street Race the “Sports Event of the Year”.
