IndyCar and IMSA racer Katherine Legge will add NASCAR Cup Series racer to her resume this weekend when she will drive the Live Fast Motorsports number 78 car in the spring race at Phoenix Raceway.
However, this will not be her first time in a NASCAR race; she has driven in five Xfinity Series races and ran at Daytona International Speedway in the ARCA Menards Series this year before a crash took her out of the race. She also ran on the dirt at the Chili Bowl Nationals this year.
The 44 year old Legge will be the first female driver in the Cup Series since 2018 when Danica Patrick ran in the Daytona 500.
Last year car owner BJ McLeod sold his charter and is running a partial schedule in 2025 with himself and other drivers in the car.
