After a somewhat poor showing, the Avett Brothers musical “Swept Away” was scheduled to close on December 15; but brisk ticket sales after the announcement has put a closing of the show on hold…for now.
After a sell out, “Swept Away” has extended their run for another two weeks until December 29.
In an announcement after the show on December 10, cast member Stark Sands said, “the The story we tell is about the will to survive against incredible odds. This show was scheduled to play its final performance on Sunday, but thanks to you, the audience members who have come out to see us since we made that announcement, it turns out there’s more life left in us yet.”
For fans who want to relive the show, a cast recording is being released next year and is currently available to pre-order the digital download edition of the album.
“Swept Away” stars John Gallagher Jr, Stark Sands, Adrian Blake Enscoe, and Wayne Duvall.
“Swept Away” is the story of four survivors from a shipwreck in 1888 off the coast of New Bedford, Massachusetts. They struggle to survive while questioning whether they can live with their choices and consequences of those decisions.
