Jennifer Hudson is just one of a couple of dozen artists to earn the title of EGOT winner – Emmy, Gramm, Oscar, and Tony Award wins. She is also the recipient of a BAFTA (British Oscars).
Hudson has not released a studio album in 10 years…until now and it is her first holiday album titled “The Gift of Love”.
However, “The Gift of Love” is not Hudson’s first recording in that time. There is the “Respect” soundtrack and the “Color Purple” recording. Hudson notes, “music is the blueprint in everything I do, so I don’t see a difference.”
The self professed “holiday fanatic” Hudson notes “the fund thing about Christmas music, there is no such thing as cheesy or going too far with it. You can have fun with it. You can be a kid again and express yourself.”
