NASCAR will at times “let the boys have at it”, but hitting a fellow driver under the caution flag is not one of them.

On Tuesday, NASCAR issued a major penalty on Spire Motorsports and its driver Carson Hocevar for violating Section 4.4B of the NASCAR Member Conduct Code of the Rule book.  Hocevar has been fined $50,000 and has been docked 25 driver points after he made contact with Harrison Buton during a caution flag; spinning Burton out during the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday.

There have been reports that Denny Hamlin also made contact with another driver during a caution flag but there was no mention of the incident by NASCAR.

There were no reports of any penalties in the Xfinity Series; however, two teams were charged with having a lug nut improperly secured during the post race inspection in the Craftsman Truck Series after the Rackley Roofing 200.  As a result of the infraction, Niece Motorsports crew chief Jon Leonard for the number 42 truck driven by Matt Mills and the ThorSport crew chief Jeriod Prince for the number 88 truck driven by Matt Crafton were each fined $2,500.
