With only 30 productions currently running, Broadway took a bit of a hit this past week; dropping some seven percent in revenues; however, it wasn’t all bad news, Drag Queen Jinx Monsoon made a return engagement to “Chicago” and sent the box office soaring.
The Tony Award winning musical “Merrily We Roll Along” topped the box office this past week; even beating out “The Lion King” with over $2 million. The revival is in its final week with a cl.osing date of July 7. The original run of “Merrily We Roll Along” lasted just 16 performances! “Wicked” which also topped $2 million, “Hamilton”, and “Cabaret” rounded out the top five.
