Continuing its travail through America, the NFL Draft makes its 2024 stop in Detroit, Michigan – home of the Lions – where 275,000 people are packed into Cadillac Square to witness a draft that is expected to be quarterback heavy.

After walking out on the stage with Detroit native and award winning artists Eminem, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell welcomes the crowd.  Several Detroit Lions players join Goodell on the stage including Lions legend Barry Sanders.  Commissioner Goodell declares the 2024 NFL Draft officially underway!

The first team on the clock is the Chicago Bears. DA Bears select Heisman Trophy Award winner quarterback Caleb Williams from the University of Southern California.

The Washington Commander select Heisman Trophy winner quarterback Jayden Daniels from LSU.

The New England Patriots select quarterback Drake Maye from North Carolina.

The Arizona Cardinals select wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr from Ohio State.

The Los Angeles Chargers select Tackle Joe Alt from Notre Dame.

The New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers from LSU.

The Tennessee Titans select Tackle JC Latham from Alabama.  When hugging the Commissioner, Latham picked Goodell completely off of the ground.

The Atlanta Falcons select quarterback Michael Penix Jr from Washington.

This is the first time in the modern draft era that four quarterbacks have been selected in the first eight picks.

The Chicago Bears make a second first round pick and select wide receiver Rome Odunze from Washington.

The Minnesota Vikings select quarterback J.J. McCarthy from the NCAA Champion Michigan Wolverines.

This is the first time in NFL Draft history that five quarterbacks have been selected in the first 10 selections and the first time in NFL Draft history that the top 10 picks were all offensive players!

The New York Jets select Tackle Olumuyiwa Fashanu from Pen State.

The Denver Broncos select quarterback Bo Nix from Oregon.

Half of the picks so far have been quarterbacks and all of the picks have been offensive players.

The Las Vegas Raiders select tight end Brock Bowers from Georgia.

Setting another record, there has never been all 13 of the top picks being offensive players.

The New Orleans Saints select Tackle Taliese Fuaga from Oregon State.

The Indianapolis Colts select defensive end Laiatu Latu from UCLA.  This is the first defensive player selected in the draft.

The Seattle Seahawks select defensive tackle Byron Murphy II from Texas.

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded with the Minnesota Vikings for the seventh overall pick.  The Vikings select Linebacker Dallas Turner from Alabama.

The Cincinnati Bengals select Tackle Amarius Mims from Georgia.

The Los Angeles Rams select defensive end Jared Verse from Florida State.

The Pittsburgh Steelers select Tackle Troy Fautanu from Washington.  He was very emoitional upon the announcement.  Cameron Heyward, the 2023 Walter Peyton NFL Man of the Year Award winner made the announcement.

The Miami Dolphins select linebacker Chop Robinson from Penn State.

The Philadelphia Eagles select defense back Quinyon Mitchell from Toledo.

The Jacksonville Jaguars select wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr from LSU.

The Dallas Cowboys have traded their pick to the Detroit Lions.  The Lions select defensive back Terrion Arnold from Alabama.  Members of flag football players from Michigan high schools join Goodell on the stage.  He announced to the crowd, “I’m Home!”

The Green Bay Packers select Tackle Jordan Morgan from Arizona.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select center Graham Barton from Duke.

The Ariona Cardinals select defensive tackle Darius Robinson from Missouri.

The Buffalo Bills have traded with the Kansas City Chiefs for wide receiver Xavier Worthy from Texas.  Worthy breaks the record for the most offensive players in the first round of an NFL Draft.

After trading with the Detroit Lions, the Dallas Cowboys select Tackle Tyler Guyton from Oklahoma.  He is the eighth tackle to be drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft.

The Baltimore Ravens select defensive back Nate Wiggins from Clemson.

The San Francisco 49ers select wide receiver Ricky Pearsal from the University of Florida.

The Kansas City Chiefs traded with the Buffalo Bills.  In a second trade, the Buffalo Bills trade down to pick first in the second round.  In the final pick of the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft the Carolina Panthers select wide receiver Xavier Legette from South Carolina.

Round two through four will be held on Friday; with the final three rounds held on Saturday.
