When it comes to watching and re-watching films and TV show; I have a list. I say that I am going to find something new and end up picking one of “the usual suspects”.
I grew up watching “Star Trek” the Original Series and “Mission Impossible” with my Dad, so those are always a go to TV thing. And now there are several movies follow the old TV shows.
Just recently finished all seven season of “Mission Impossible” plus the movies and all six of the “Star Trek” films with Kirk, Spock, and the gang.
“Hidden Figures” is a must watch about every other month or so.
One of my favourite authors is Alistair MacLean and I enjoy watching the movies from those books and have seen some of them many times over including “Bear Island”, “Where Eagles Dare”, “Ice Station Zebra”, and “The Guns of Navarone”. In fact, “Bear Island” the film, is much better than “Bear Island” the book.
Then there’s the airplane films “Firefox” with Clint Eastwood and “Top Gun: Maverick” with Tom Cruise.
And when it comes to “Star Wars”, I have long lost count of how many times four, five, and six – “The New Hope”, “The Empire Strikes Back”, and “Return of the Jedi” – has played in my home.
Just for a little variety, there are the John Wayne film “El Dorado” and “Rio Bravo”. A careful study of these two films will show how they are nearly identical in the plot…just with Wayne playing the sheriff in one film and the hired gun in the other and there’s a gun battle at the end to rescue a good guy.
And each night there is a couple hours of music videos, many of which are the same from one night to the next…lots of Sting, George Michael, Ricky Martin, and Pink Floyd; with some Acoustic Alchemy, Rippingtons, Spyro Gyra, and a variety of others that pop up along the way.
