It was a very busy weekend for the NASCAR officials at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with all three racing series running and a number of them having inspection issues and pt road difficulties.

During the Cup Series race on Sunday, Chris Buescher driving the number 17 RFK Racing car had a wheel come off of the car on the racing surface.  The detaching wheel caused Buescher to hit the wall and put him out of the race – the only driver not to finish the race on Sunday.

As a result of the detachment, number 17 crew members jack man Nicholas Patterson and front tire changer Jakob Prall have been suspended for the next two races.

That was the only penalty issued in the Cup Series; however, two Xfinity Series teams and a Craftsman Truck Series team were charged with lug nut violations.

In the Xfinity Series, the crew chiefs are fined $5,000 for a single lug nut improperly secured; the fine is $2,500 for the crew chief in the Craftsman Truck Series.

The number nine JR Motorsports car driven by Brandon Jones with Phillip Bell as crew chief, the number 42 Young Motorsports driven by Leland Honeyman with Andrew Abbott as crew chief, and the number 98 truck driven by Ty Majeski with Joe Shear Jr as crew chief were all found to have a single lug nut improperly secured in post race inspection.
