After three successful seasons of short track racing, the SRX – Superstar Racing Experience – Series has announced that they will not be running during 2024.

Five of the six races for the 2024 season had already been announced – Stafford Speedway, Thunder Road Speedbowl, Slinger Speedway, Berlin Raceway, and Cedar Lake Speedway -n the announcement was made.

SRX is owned by Ray Evernham and Tony Stewart.  Evernham has recently expanded his horizons with the purchase of the IROC Series which he is looking to run this season.

Stewart will be taking over the full time driving duties for his wife Leah Pruitt in NHRA – National Hot Rod Association – as she focuses her efforts on the Stewarts starting a family.

SRX has issued a statement over the postponement saying, “it is with deep disappointment that we announce the postponement of SRX’s fourth season.  We entered the next phase of our racing series with great anticipation and excitement for what was ahead.  Our expectations; however, have been tempered by market factors that have proven too much to overcome.

Time has run out to put forth the kind of events our fans, partners, drivers, and tracks deserve.  We’re thankful to each for the commitment, their contributions, and their support as we brought a new ideal to reality.

The racing industry continues to evolve and we are actively exploring strategic options for the series’ long-term potential.  We made this announcement now to allow our partners the time and flexibility to best serve their interests.”

Further updates will be issues when they are available.
