It seems a little hard to believe, but over the course of her long and storied career Cher has never released a Christmas album…until now.
Set for an October 20 release, “Christmas” features collaborations with other artists – including Darlene Love, Stevie Wonder, Michael Bublé, Cyndi Lauper and Tyga -, new songs, and some old favourites. This is her first new album in five years.
“Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” was originally released by Darlene Love with a then 17 year old Cher singing background. This time around Cher and Love perform the song together.
The first single from the album – “DJ Play a Christmas Song” – is available now.
Speaking on the new album, Cher said, “I never say this about my own records but I’m really proud of this one. It is one of the most amazing highlights of my career.”
Speaking on her collaboration with Stevie Wonder she added, “every time I hear that harmonica, I’m a teenager again. It’s a personal dream come true for me to record this song with Stevie.”
And “Believe” it or not, Cher is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her Grammy Award winning album “Believe” with a new deluxe release.
