It was a double elimination weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway when the Xfinity and Cup Series went from 12 to eight drivers in the playoffs.

A hometown race form many of the teams, the stands were filled with friends and family from the various racing teams to cheer on their favourites.

Sam Mayer won the race on the Roval Saturday afternoon to and secured a spot in the round of eight in a must win situation.

In the Cup Series race on Sunday, it was the non-playoff driver AJ Allmendinger who crossed the finish line for his first win of the season.  After the race, Allmendinger was very emotional over the win and told reporters that it was because you never known when the last one will come.

In the Xfinity Series Daniel Hemric, Parker Kligerman, Josh Berry, and Jeb Burton were all eliminated from the playoffs.

With just four races remaining in the 2023 season, John Hunter Nemechek holds on to points lead after 10 stage wins and seven race wins this season.

After the points have been reset in the Cup Series, William Byron holds on to the lead after a series leading eight stage wins and six race wins this season.

After a less than stellar playoff so far, Martin Truex Jr is hoping that his three race wins and 36 bonus points are enough to keep him in the playoffs.

After the Bank of America 400 on the Roval Brad Keselowski, Ross Chastain, Bubba Wallace, and Kyle Busch were all eliminated from the playoffs.
