The Beatles have not been together as a band for over 50 years, yet they continue to impress and inspire musicians the world over.  After traveling to Liverpool and visiting the various Beatles sites around the city Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame member Kent Blazy wrote and recorded the album “From The Beatles to the Bluebird”.

February 3, 1959 is known as “the day the music died” after a plane crash killed up and coming music stars Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens”.  In that case February 9, 1964 is the day music was reborn.  That is also the date that four mop topped lads from the English town of Liverpool took the music world by storm when The Beatles made their first appearance on the hit television program “The Ed Sullivan Show”.  Over 70 million Americans tuned in to help launch the era that became known as The British Invasion.

With all that in mind after returning home, Blazy created “From The Beatles to the Bluebird”.  Speaking on the album Blazy said, “the songs honor lots of people who have inspired me through the years, and as the Beatles said, ‘Some are dead and some are living.’ I had a great band and engineers and it was a joy to make this record.”

The album was recorded in just two days; vocalist and co-writer on two of the songs Steve Allen notes, “Kent Blazy’s new album, ‘From The Beatles to The Bluebird’, is a musical journey from the 60s English invasion, winding through decades up till today. From first inspirations to endless gigs in bars to writing hit songs in Nashville, Tennessee on Music Row, it’s all in there.”

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation’s Director of Customer Service Don Wiggins added, “WOW, the songwriting, the deeply personal nature of it, the guitars, the bass player, Kent’s voice, the sound, the production, the memories and feelings these great songs invoke… simply outstanding. Thank you to Steve and all so much for this treasure.  I have to believe that John and George are quite pleased with Kent’s heartfelt tribute, and he even got the words ‘Fender Stratocaster’ in there. Freakin’ awesome!”

Over the course of his career, Kent Blazy has penned songs for Diamond Rio, Gary Morris, Patty Loveless, Chris Young, and Garth Brooks including the number one hit song “If Tomorrow Never Comes”.
