During the Xfinity Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, driver of the number 92 car Josh Williams was involved in a crash that caused significant damage to his car. But despite repairs using bare bond.
But the cold temperatures prevented the tape from sticking to the car and coming off on the track. As a result, NASCAR black flagged Williams’ car and told him to “park the car” by taking it to the garage.
Instead, Williams parked the car at the start/finish line and walked to the garage where he was met by NASCAR officials and escorted to the infield care center before being taken to the NASCAR hauler.
For his efforts, NASCAR suspended Williams for one race with Alex Labbe driving the 92 car on the road course at Circuit of the America’s.
While Williams’ point standings take a big hit and make his chance of being a part of the playoffs very slim; all is not lost for the 92 team.
Williams and DGM Racing have just signed on a new sponsor – Parking Guidance Systems LLC. Parking Guidance ” provides technology-driven parking management solutions for busy parking structures including airports, shopping malls, city garages, college campuses, and hospitals.”
Parking Guidance Systems has signed to sponsor several races in 2023 and will appear on both Josh Williams and Alex Labbe’s cars with the first race this weekend at Richmond Raceway on Alex Labbe’s number 91 car.
Speaking on the new sponsor, Williams said, “I am super excited to work with Parking Guidance Systems for the remainder of the season. Thankfully I won’t have to worry about parking it in the wrong spot anymore!! Working with them is going to be a blast on and off the track supporting great causes. Welcome to the DGM family, now let’s “Park It” in victory lane!”
Vice President of Business Development at DGC Derek Frantz also spoke on the new partnership saying, “we are thrilled to be partner with Josh and DGM racing and hope that our parking guidance system will improve Josh’s parking experiences in the future.
