After the Echo Park Automotive Grand Prix last Sunday at Circuit of the Americas, a less than happy Daniel Suarez went in search of Alex Bowman and teammate Ross Chastain.

Suarez bumped Chastain out of the way before repeatedly hitting the rear of Bowman’s car repeatedly.

In the second of three overtime restarts, Chastain, Bowman, and Suarez all made contact going into turn one and sent Suarez from fifth to 27th place.  The contact sent Suarez into Martin Truex Jr causing Suarez to have a flat tire.  Bowman and Chastain went on to finish the race in the top five.

After exiting their cars Suarez and Bowman exchanged words but the incident went no further.

The contact took place near where NASCAR officials were directing traffic.

NASCAR has stated that Suarez violated the rules with his behaviour and has fined him $50,000 for violating the NASCAR Member Conduct policy – contact with another vehicle on pit road after the race.

Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks spoke on SiriusXM Radio saying that he would, “rather have two guys mad about losing.

There is no word as yet whether Trackhouse will appeal the ruling.
