On February 5 the Recording Academy held the 65th annual Grammy Awards.  This year the Academy has added some new awards for a total of 91 awards.

It was a historic night of music and tributes with a 15 minute, 32 artist celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, a win by the first female transgender artist, and a new record for the most wins in Grammy Award history when Beyonce took home four Grammy’s to bring her total to 32.

While Bad Bunny failed to make history as the first Latin Music star to win a Grammy for Album of the Year, the Tennessee State University Marching Band earned its first Grammy for the band and for an HBCU School (Historically Black College or University).

Award winning actress Viola Davis finally gets her Grammy to become the newest member of the EGOT club.

In shocking wins for the older generation, Willie Nelson and Bonnie Raitt both added to the Grammy trophy case.  And Edgar Winter finally wins one.
