The Beach Boys are celebrating 60 years of making music with a new release of their album “Sounds of Summer”. The album has not only been remastered; but has also been expanded.
The Greatest Hits collection was originally released in 2003 and spent a total of 104 weeks – two years – on the Billboard Album chart. It has since been certified four times platinum for selling at least four million copies in the United States alone.
The original album featured 30 of the Beach Boys hit songs; the new edition includes nearly triple the original number of songs for a total of 80 of the band’s songs including 26 new mixes using the latest digital technology.
Beach Boys fans have a variety of options that include a three CD, Super Deluxe six LP box, a single CD, and a double LP versions.
The Super Deluxe package features standard and a limited edition numbered set. The package includes four lithographs and printed sleeves with the Beach Boys while discography. All of the formats come with a book featuring new liner notes and photos.
