Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has ruled over Britannia far longer than any other monarch in the history of the Empire. Next month the United Kingdom will celebrate Her Majesty’s 70th year on the throne with the Platinum Party at the Palace at Buckingham Palace.
Only 10,000 tickets will be available and are on a first come first served basis. Details are available on the BBC website. It is not known at this time whether the gala event will be broadcast to royal and music fans in North America.
Set for June 4, the concert will include some musical royalty with Sirs Elton John and Rod Stewart; as well as, Lord Andrew Lloyd Weber. Sir Rod spoke on the upcoming performance saying, “Queen Elizabeth has given incredible service to the United Kingdom over the last 70 years and I’m delighted to be able to join her in celebrating her Platinum Jubilee with the Party at the Palace. She has demonstrated to the world what a special person she is and how lucky we are to have her. This will be a momentous occasion.”
Joining them will be Diana Ross, Queen with Adam Lambert, Duran Duran, Elbow, Alicia Keys, Andrea Bocelli, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hans Zimmer, Sam Ryder, Mabel, George Ezra, Craig David, Sigala & Ella Eyre, Mica Paris, Celeste, Mimi Webb, and the Royal Ballet.
Several years ago Madness performed at a similar event and were the first artist to perform on the roof of Buckingham Palace.
