The 2022 NASCAR racing season has begun, but that doesn’t mean new teams and drivers cannot join the field.

Team Strange Racing owned by Brazilian Tarso Marques will drive the number 79 car beginning with the road course at Road America. Marques will run a part time schedule of eight races for the 2022 season.

Team Strange Racing team will also run at the Indianapolis Road Course, Watkins Glen, Daytona International Speedway, the Charlotte Roval, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, and the final race of the season at Phoenix Raceway.

Marques is a racing veteran who has run in Formula One and Champ Car.

The last time the nunmber 79 car was on the track was in 2012 when Kelly Bires drove for Archie St. Hilaire in a part time season.
