This week on “The Voice”, the top 10 artists perform for fan votes with Challenge Week and songs “to challenge them outside of their comfort zone”.
Team Ariana’s Holly Forbes goes Disco with “Last Dance” by Donna Summer. Carson said, “what a way to kick off the show” and John agreed; adding that she seemed like singing Disco was in her wheel house. Kelly called the performance amazing and fabulous. Ariana said that the performance was incredible.
Team Blake’s Wendy Moten takes on the iconic Dolly Parton with “Jolene”. When Wendy fell last week she ended up in the hospital; she fractured her right elbow and left wrist. John said that every week Wendy is so perfect; adding that he was transfixed. Kelly noted that Wendy has had such a week; adding that the performance was beautifully sad. Noting that it is such a classic Country song, Blake said that he has never seen such focus and strength on the stage.
Team Kelly’s Jeremy Rosado goes Country with “Freedom Was a Highway”. Carson said that Jeremy took them back to the block. Saying she wasn’t familiar with the song, Ariana noted that Jeremy could sing the phone book. Kelly noted that Jeremy was great with an up-tempo song; adding that he gets better each week.
Team Legend’s Jershika Maple “Ain’t it Fun” by Paramore. Carson said that it was, “so fun”. Kelly said that Jershika is so powerful; adding that it was so cool that she did the song. John said that once again it was the point of challenge week; adding that she knocked it out of the park.
Team Blake’s Lana Scott is the only Country music artist remaining in the show. Tonight she takes on Katy Perry but puts a Country music spin on the song. Ariana said that it was so beautiful. Kelly said that it was cool that she made a pop song Country. Blake noted that Lana’s performance was so conversational; adding she made it work. Blake noted that there is no reason why they wouldn’t here Lana singing that song on the radio.
Team Legend’s Joshua Vacanti takes on Alicia Keys with “If I Ain’t Got You”. Joshua noted that he was terrified when he first saw the song. Tonight is Joshua’s second wedding anniversary. Blake said that Joshua is such an important part of the show; adding that he can’t wait each week to see what Joshua is going to do. John noted that Joshua always challenges himself each week and he always delivers; adding it was a knockout performance.
Taking a break from the competition, Eurovision Award winners Maneskin takes the stage for a performance.
Back to the competition, Team Ariana’s Jim and Sasha Allen perform “Stay” by Rihanna. Saying he is glad America saved them, John called the performance beautiful and well delivered. Kelly agreed with John; adding that it was so good and well executed. Kelly noted that a great song is a great song. Ariana called it the their best performance of the season.
Team Blake’s Paris Winningham takes on a song that has always wanted to do but never has. Paris said that he fell in love with “Amazed” by Lone Star the first time he heard it. John said that he got in trouble with his family for letting Paris go; adding that Paris keeps proving them right every week. Blake called Paris a stud; adding that he is sure Paris is going to the semi finals.
Team Kelly’s Hailey Mai performs Country music for the first time with “Peter Pan” by Kelsea Ballerini. Carson said she did a great job. Ariana called Hailey stunning. Kelly noted that Hailey has a lot on her plate right now; adding that she isn’t afraid to conquer anything. Kelly said that Hailey sang the song flawlessly.
Team Kelly’s Girl Named Tom close out the show with “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay. Before forming the band, the trio had planned to follow in their grandfather’s footsteps and become doctors. Blake loves that they switch things up; adding it was their best performance so far. John said that he was just imagining what one of their concerts would be like with the ability to change things up. Kelly called the performance amazing and cool.
On Tuesday’s results show two artists will be eliminated from the show.
