Irish rockers U2 are celebrating 30 years since the release of their Grammy Award winning album “Achtung Baby”.  It was their seventh album.

On November 19 the rockers are releasing a special vinyl edition of the album in standard and deluxe versions.

The new vinyl release will be available on black vinyl in the standard edition and on colour vinyl for the deluxe edition.  The 2018 remastered edition and the Unter Remixes editions of “Achtung Baby” will also be available digitally on November 19.

In addition to the album release, U2 have joined with artist Thierry Noir – the first artist to paint on the Berlin Wall – for a special installation at the Hansa Studios in Kreuzberg.  Noir has painted a new Trabant and an exclusive mural on the Berlin Wall.   U2 commissioned Noir to paint the Trabant cars featured on the original album artwork.  He returned to paint artwork for the Zoo TV tour.

After the conclusion of the installation, the bonnet of the Trabant will be put up for auction at the Phillips in London on December 9.  Proceeds from the auction will go to the Berlin Institute for Sound and Music.

The rockers will also be releasing a boxset on December 3 featuring 50 tracks.  The set will include the Uber Remixes, Unter Remixes, B-Sides, and 22 previously unreleased digital tracks.
