In his fifth and final start of the 2021 Xfinity Racing Series, Kyle Busch will sit on the pole and bring the field to green for the Credit Karma Money 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  Busch has won the previous four races in which he started and cracked the 100 race win mark in the process. 

Whatever the outcome of today’s race, Busch says that this will be his final Xfinity Series start.

After being scratched from the Camping World Truck Series at Knoxville Raceway on Friday night, Michael Annett will not race in the Xfinity Series on Saturday.  Team owner JR Motorsports did not give any details but stated that Annett is out due to a leg injury.  Cup Series driver Austin Dillon will be sitting in for Annett in the number one JR Motorsports car.  Due to the driver change, Dillon will have to start the race from the back of the field.  Annett was originally scheduled to start the race in sixth place.

Stages one and two of the race are 40 laps each with stage three lasting 83 laps for a total of 163 laps around the mile and a half track.

NASCAR has called for a competition caution on lap 20.

Lap two, the top five are Kyle Busch, AJ Allmendinger, Justin Haley, Harrison Burton, and Noah Gragson.

Lap four, Kyle Busch leads the race with AJ Allmendinger in second; Justin Haley, Harrison Burton, and Noah Gragson round out the top five. 

Lap seven, Kyle Busch has a lead of over half a second on AJ Allmendinger.  After starting from the back of the field, Austin Dillon has moved up to 28th place.  When Dillon jumped in the car, the was unfamiliar with the set up and had to ask the names of his crew chief and spotter for today.

Lap nine. Kyle Busch has a lead of over a second and a half on AJ Allmendinger; Justin Haley, Harrison Burton, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.

With on track temperatures reaching nearly 140 degrees, temps inside the cars is approaching 120 degrees.

Lap 16, leader Kyle Busch has begun to lap slower cars.  There are 38 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 17, AJ Allmendinger has closed the gap on leader Kyle Busch to under a second.  Noah Gragson passes Justin Haley for fourth.

Lap 18, the top five are Kyle Busch, AJ Allmendinger, Harrison Burton, Noah Gragson, and Justin Haley.

Lap 20, NASCAR displays the yellow flag for the competition caution.

Some of the drivers come down pit road for service.

Kyle Busch brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 25 and gets out in front for the lead with AJ Allmendinger in second.

The top five are Kyle Busch, AJ Allmendinger, Harrison Burton, Daniel Hemric, and Noah Gragson.  Austin Dillon has moved up to 18th.

CJ McLaughlin is off the track.

Lap 27, Kyle Busch has a half second lead on AJ Allmendinger with 36 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 30, Kyle Busch has led every lap so far and has a half second lead on AJ Allmendinger.  Austin Dillon is in 14th place.

JR Motorsports owner Dale Earnhardt Jr said that he got a call about 20 minutes before race time that they needed a driver for the number one car.

Lap 33, Kyle Busch has a lead of a second on AJ Allmendinger; Harrison Burton, Daniel Hemric, and Noah Gragson round out the top five.  There are 36 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 35, Kyle Busch has increased his lead on AJ Allmendinger to a second and a half.

Austin Cindric reports that he cannot go full throttle on the straightaways.

With four laps remaining in stage one, Kyle Busch is running some of the fastest laps on the track; but they are still some three seconds slower than laps on fresh tires.

Drivers come down pit road for service with Harrison Burton winning the race off of pit road.  In an unusually slow stop, Kyle Busch comes out in fifth.

Justin Allgaier reported that his right front tire was going bad…the tire was coming apart.

Austin Cindric’s crew was charged with coming over the wall too soon and will have to restart the race from the back of the field.

Harrison Burton brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two with Noah Gragson alongside.  Harrison Burton takes the lead but Noah Gragson takes the lead on the back stretch.

Lap 47, Noah Gragson leads the race with Harrison Burton in second; Kyle Busch, Daniel Hemric, and Brett Moffitt round out the top five.

Lap 48, Kyle Busch takes second form Harrison Burton.

Lap 49, Kyle Busch battles Noah Gragson for the lead and retakes the top spot.

Lap 50, the top five are Kyle Busch, Noah Gragson, Harrison Burton, Daniel Hemric, and Brett Moffitt.

David Starr brings out the caution flag on lap 51 when he gets into the wall after making contact with Matt Mills.

Lap 60, Kyle Busch continues to lead the race with Noah Gragson in second nearly a half second back; Harrison Burton, AJ Allmendinger, and Daniel Hemric round out the top five.

Josh Berry brings out the fourth caution flag of the race on lap 63 when he spins out with a very loose car.

Dale Jr says that Josh Berry is very talented and they hope he will be a part of the team next season.

Five laps remain in stage two, Kyle Busch has dominated the race so far and has a one second lead on AJ Allmendinger.

Lap 89, Ronnie Bassett Jr has to make an unscheduled trip down pit road with a flat tire.

Lap 90, Kyle Busch has pulled out to a lead of nearly a second on Noah Gragson; Brett Moffitt, Daniel Hemric, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

AJ Allmendinger has entered the top 20 after having to restart the race from the back of the field with a speeding penalty.

Lap 92, Kyle Busch has a lead of over a second on Noah Gragson.

Lap 96, Kyle Busch continues to lead the race; Noah Gragson, Brett Moffitt, Daniel Hemric, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

Lap 97 the caution flag comes out when Gray Gaulding spins out and gets into the wall.

Some of the drivers come down pit road for service including the leaders. Kyle Busch wins the race off of pit road but not all of the drivers came down pit road. The drivers cannot complete stage three on a single load of fuel and tires are essential for the drivers.

Noah Gragson brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 102 but comes down pit road just before the green flag flies. It is Justin Allgaier who gets out in front to take the lead form the outside lane.

Lap 102, the top five are Justin Allgaier, Justin Haley, Jeb Burton, Jeremy Clements, and Daniel Hemric. Kyle Busch is just outside the top 10 in eleventh.

Gragson’s team reports that there was a flat tire.

Lap 105, Daneil Hemric passes Justin Allgaier for the lead; Ty Dillon Justin Haley, and Austin Dillon round out the top five.

Kyle Busch passes Austin Dillon for fifth and Justin Haley for fourth.

Lap 107, Kyle Busch passes Ty Dillon for third.

Lap 197, the top five are Daniel Hemric, Justin Allgaier, Kyle Busch, Ty Dillon, and Austin Dillon

Lap 108, Kyle Busch passes Ty Dillon for second.

Lap 109, the top five are Daniel Hemric, Kyle Busch, Ty Dillon, Aj Allmendinger, and Justin Allgaier.

Lap 112, Kyle Busch begins to challenge Daniel Hemric for the lead.

Lap 115, there are 32 cars on the lead lap; Landon Cassill is off the track and David Starr is out of the race.

Lap 116, Daniel Hemric has pulled out to a lead of over half a second on Kyle Busch; AJ Allmendinger, Ty Dillon, and Austin Dillon round out the top five.

The caution flag comed out on lap 119 when Brandon Jones gets into the wall with a flat tire.

CJ McLaughlin has to get out of the car with an overheating issue. Already out of the race, David Starr takes over the driving duties for McLaughlin.

Several drivers come down pit road for fresh tires and service including the leaders. Daniel Hemric edges out Kyle Busch for the race off of pit road.

Justin Allgaier was charged with running over the choose lane box and will have to restart the race form the back of the field.

Noah Gragson and Ty Dillon stayed out on the track and will bring the field down for the green flag restart. Ty Dillon gets out in front for the race but gets passed by Daniel Hemric for the lead.

With 38 laps to go, Daniel Hemric leads the race with Kyle Busch in second; Brett Moffitt, AJ Allmendinger, and Harrison Burton round out the top five.

With 34 laps remaining in the race, Daniel Hemric has a quarter of a second lead on Kyle Busch; Brett Moffitt, AJ Allmendinger, and Harrison Burton round out the top five.

AJ Allmendinger and Brett Moffitt battle for third, swapping the spot back and forth.

With 29 laps to go, Kyle Busch is a third of a second behind leader Daniel Hemric while Brett Moffitt and AJ Allmendinger continue to battle for third; Harrison Burton rounds out the top five.

Kyle Busch reports that he doesn’t appear to have the speed to retake the lead.

Lap 143, Daniel Hemric continues to lead the race with Kyle Busch in second a half second behind; AJ Allmendinger, Brett Moffitt and Austin Dillon round out the top five.

The spotter for Daniel Hemric today usually spots for Kyle Busch. Part of the spotter’s job is to tell their driver what the other drivers are doing and where they run best.

Carson Ware brings out the caution flag with 17 laps remaining in the race when he spins out.

The drivers come down pit road for service. Many of the teams do not have any sticker tires left and are using scuff tires. Daniel Hemric wins the race off of pit road…barely.

Riley Herbst gets caught speeding on pit road and will have to restart the race from the back of the field.

After staying out on the track, Kyle Weatherman brings the field down for the green flag restart from the outside lane with just eleven laps remaining in the race. Daniel Hemric is on the inside lane with Kyle Busch behind him. Daneil Hemric gets out in front for the lead. Falling back quickly on old tires, Brandon Brown and Harrison Burton hits Kyle Weatherman and brings out the caution flag.
