It’s week five of the six race short track season for the SRX Racing Series. This week the drivers travel to Slinger Speedway in Wisconsin.

The high banked quarter of a mile track asphalt track is sure to bring some action to the track. The drivers will be making laps around the track about every 12 seconds.

Local hero Luke Fenhaus is just 17 years old.

Fenhaus and fellow teen Hailie Deegan battle for position in sixth.

With nine minutes remaining in heat one, Marco Andretti continues to lead the race with “Smoke” (Tony Stewart) in second; Bobby Labonte, Helio Castroneves, and Ernie Francis Jr round out the top five.

Seven minutes to go, Luke Fenhaus takes fifth form Ernie Francis Jr,

With 6:17 remaining in heat number one the caution flag comes out.

Paul Tracy called Slinger Speedway more exciting than a Connor McGregor fight.

Marco Andretti brings the field down for the green flag restart with Tony Stewart alongside. Andretti get out in front for the lead with Tony Stewart on his bumper.

The caution flag comes out for a wreck involving Paul Tracy and Ernie Francis Jr that sends Tracy around. Paul Tracy has to have a push to get unstuck. Tracy comes around on the track, passing several cars under caution, to make contact with Ernie Francis a bit of payback.

Marco Andretti brings the field down for the green flag restart and holds on to the lead.

Paul Tracy gets into the wall on the restart with a flat tire and brings out the caution flag just before the end of the heat.

Local hero Luke Fenhaus is a 17 year old third generation farmer, high school student, and race car driver.

Luke Fenhaus brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 101 with Tony Stewart alongside. With the drop of the green flag, the battle for the lead continues as the Luke Fenhaus and Tony Stewart continue to swap the lead back and forth.

Michael Waltrip brings out the caution flag.

Lue Fenhause brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 111 and continues to try and fend off Tony Stewart for the lead.

Lap 120, Tony Stewart is the leader but Luke Fenhaus isn’t letting him get away from the field.

Tony Stewart slaps the wall but keeps going and the track stays green.

Twenty five laps remain in the race, Luke Fenhause takes the lead.

Lap 129, Tony Stewart retakes the lead briefly before Luke Fenhaus edges back out in front.

Lap 133, third place driver Marco Andretti is looking to make it a three wide battle for the lead.

The cation flag comes out with 15 laps remaining in the race. In the final 12 laps only green flag laps will count.

Drivers stack up in a big wreck on the final lap of the race. Paul Tracy takes his car behind the wall. Hailie Deegan, Michael Waltrip, Willy T. ribbs, and Helio Castroneves were also involved in the wreck.

With two laps remaining in the race, Luke Fenhaus brings the field down for the final shootout to the finish with Marco Andretti alongside. Marco Andretti gets out in front for the lead.
