It’s hard to imagine that Southern Rockers Asleep at the Wheel have been making music for 50 years. To mark the milestone event the rockers have a new album and a tour.

“Better Times” is a three song EP that features a couple of new tunes – one of which was written during the pandemic – and a re-imagined traditional song; all of which show off the Asleep at the Wheel sound fans have come to love.

“Better Times” will be available on CD and on limited edition vinyl that includes an autograph from lead singer Ray Benson.

Joining many of their fellow musicians, Asleep at the Wheel are hitting the road after many months of not being able to perform before a live audience.

While the tour is somewhat limited in scope, AATW advises fans to stay tuned for more to come as they continue to celebrate 50 years of making music.

Asleep at the Wheel was born in 1970 on a farm in West Virginia. Since that time they have earned 10 Grammy Awards, released 31 albums, received the Touring Band of the Year Award from the Country Music Association, and has a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association.
