After taking a week off to make way for the 93rd annual Academy Awards, “American Idol” returns with the top 10 and songs from the Disney songbook in a live simulcast show across the nation.

Sophia gets the night started off with a performance of “A Whole New World”. She is joined the rest of the contestants.

Katy comes out dressed as Tinker Bell.

On a special Monday show two weeks ago, America voted for the comeback singer to join the top 10 and America voted for Arthur Gunn.

After the live cross country vote, three singers will be eliminated at the end of the show.

Television, film, and Broadway actor and musician John Stamos mentored the singers this week from Disney World.

Kicking off the competition with a rousing performance is Caleb Kennedy who sang “Real Gone” by The Cars. Katy said that every time she sees Caleb he has a little more sparkle; adding it was a perfect song choice. Luke said it was a total Caleb the artist look; adding that it was great. Lionel loved that Caleb actually gave them a smile; adding that it was a radiating performance.

Willie Spence sings “Circle of Life” from “The Lion King”. During rehearsals, John Stamos had to stand up for Willie’s performance. A smiling Luke said that Willie just made him feel alive; adding that Willie has the magic. Lionel said that Willie has a voice that he could sing the phone book and make it his own; adding that Willie has an incredible delivery. Katy called Willie a bona fide Idol; adding that the performance was brilliant. Katy said that she couldn’t wait to hear Willie sing again.

Deshawn Gonclaves performs the iconic “When You Wish Upon a Star” from “Pinocchio” with a Big Band Jazz flair. Deshawn starts out behind the piano. Lionel asked, “who are are you really?” He added that Deshawn is showbusiness. Katy also wanted to know who Desshawn is; adding that he was amazing and unlike she has ever seen before. A grinning Luke noted that Deshawn has blossomed; adding that he is not the same guy who showed up at the audition.

Host Ryan Seacrest reveals that next week along with some special Mother’s Day message, for the first time in Idol history the singers will be performing songs from the Coldplay songbook. In a special message from the band, lead singer Chris Martin noted that they will be mentoring the singers…and maybe he can learn how to sing better.

Casey Bishop sang a stripped down version of “When She Loved Me” from “Toy Story”. Clips from the movie aired while Casey sang. Katy said that Casey’s vocals will take her to infinity and beyond; adding that she loves Casey can sing anything. Casey gave Luke goosebumps. Lionel said that Casey is grace beyond her years.

Next up Chayce Beckham chose “Baby Mine” from “Dumbo”. Chayce said that it reminded him of when he was a kid. During the mentoring session John said that Chayce was true and authentic. Luke gave Chayce massive props for bringing the steel guitar to the stage; adding the performance was him with a solid and great performance. Lionel told Chayce to stop thinking that he was here; telling him to enjoy the moment. Katy said that Chaayce took a lullaby and made it a cool song.

Alyssa Wray took on the original princess Cinderella with “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes”. She begins the song A Cappella. Lionel said that he will have to go back and watch the movie; adding that her dress was on fire. He called it an amazing performance. Katy noted the control was unlike any other; adding that Alyssa is a princess. Luke noted that it was so much fun to watch the singers turn into a work of art; adding that Alyssas did a great job.

Comeback vote winner Arthur Gunn chose the Oscar winning song “Remember Me” from “Coco” but with his own spin on the song. John Stamos called Arthur’s voice stunning. Katy called it one of Arthur’s best performances; adding that it was amazing. Luke called the performance authentic Arthur Gunn. Lionel said that it is the greatest part of being a stylist when a singer can take any sing and make it their own.

Taking a break from the competition, John Batiste performed “It’s All Right” from the Oscar winning animated film “Soul”. He had the house on their feet dancing.

Cassandra Coleman chose “Go the Distance” form Hercules”. Luke called it Cassandra’s most solid performance vocally. Lionel agreed with Luke; adding that she showed the clarity of her voice. Katy noted that Cassandra’s confidence has grown.

Hunter Metts chose “You’ll Be in My Heart” from “Tarzan”. Hunter said that it is his Mom’s favourite song. Lionel said that’s what he was waiting for. Lionel told Hunter to enjoy the stage. Katy said that Hunter sounded great. Luke said that Hunter has a recognizable voice.

The final contestant of the night is Grace Kinstler with “Into the Unknown” from “Frozen II”. Katy said that Grace had a magic wand in her voice. Luke said that Grace had the eye of the tiger and went beyond.
