“Dancing with the Starts” has reached the semi finals of another season with just six couples remaining…and a double elimination one week before the finals.

The couples must perform two dances this week – a redemption dance – one they have performed before and get a second chance to improve – and a new routine.

In the redemption round, the judges choose which dance the couple are to perform.

First up are Skai and Alan with a Cha Cha.  Bruno said that Skai brought solid gold to the dance; adding that she was hot.  Carrie Ann said that Skai was tight and crisp.  Derek noted that Skai was much more confident and sharp; adding that he loved the costume.   Skai and Alan scored 27 points for their dance.

Justina and Sasha perform a Tango.  Derek noted that dance had attack and passion; adding that her frame was fantastic.  Bruno said that it was what he was waiting for; adding that she was “on top of it”.  Carrie Ann said that Justina was on fire tonight; adding that it was a wonderful dance.  Justina and Sasha scored 28 points for their dance; including Justina’s first 10.

Johnny and Britt dance a Salsa for their redemption dance.  Carrie Ann said that Johnny was so much more in control; adding that she saw what she wanted to see.  Derek noted the difficulty in the dance; adding that it was well done.  Bruno said that Carrie Ann did a good job; adding that Johnny showed great improvement.  Johnny and Britt scored 27 points for their dance.

Nelly and Daniella perform a Paso Doble for their redemption dance.  Bruno said that you could see the artist…and the shapes; adding Nelly showed restrained power.  Carrie Ann said that Nelly danced with power and presence; adding that their was a regelness to what he was doing.  Derek said that there was definitely improvement and focus this time around.  Nelly and Daniella scored 26 points for their dance.

Nev and Jenna dance a Foxtrot.  The dance reminded Derek of his competition days; adding that it was a pure Foxtrot.  Bruno called Nev a class act; adding that he never lost it.  Bruno called the dance brilliant.  Carrie Ann said that Nev has mastered the technique and become an artist.  Nev and Jenna scored 30 points for their dance.

Kaitlyn and Artem danced a Paso Doble.  Carrie Ann called the dance passionate and powerful; adding that Kaitlyn was “in the zone”.  Derek said that Kaitlyn sold him.  Bruno said that he felt like he was in Seville on a hot summer night; adding that it was 100 percent authentic Paso Doble.  Kaitlyn and Artem scored 30 points for their dance.

Justina and Sasha get round two started when they perform a Contemporary routine.  Derek noted that this is the point of the season where all the emotions come out.  He said that Justina makes everything look effortless.  Bruno noted that Justina has freedom of movement.  Carrie Ann called the dance beautiful, authentic, and magical.  Justina and Sasha scored 30 points for their dance.

Skai and Alan dance a Viennese Waltz.  Bruno said that the dance was beautiful and maintained an emotional connection.  Carrie Ann called Skai and exceptional woman.  Derek said that the dance was beautiful and connected.  Skai and Alan scored 30 points for their dance.

Johnny and Britt perform a Jazz routine to the music of One Republic.  Carrie Ann loved the dance; saying that it looked like Johnny was on cloud nine.  Derek called it a beautiful routine; adding that he felt the genuine connection.  Derek said that he wanted to give the dance an eleven.  Bruno called the dance clean, clear, and with purity of line and form; adding that everything he loved was there.  Johnny and Britt scored 30 points for their dance.

Nev and Jenna dance a Contemporary routine.  Derek said that he forgot to judge; adding that it was wonderful to watch.  Bruno said that Nev had to have done it before; adding that he was totally in it.  Carrie Ann noted that Contemporary is Jenna’s thing; adding that Nev nailed every step.  Nev and Jenna scored 30 points for their dance.

Nelly and Daniella perform a Jive to “Jump, Jive, and Wail” and brought the judges to their feet.  Bruno said that Nelly nailed it.  Carrie Ann said that Nelly was incredible.  Derek agreed that Nelly nailed the routine.  Nelly and Daniella scored 30 points for their dance.

Kaitlyn and Artem close out the night of dancing with a Contemporary routine.  Carrie Ann noted that it has been an incredible night of dancing; adding that she has been waiting for them to do a Contemporary routine.  Derek said that his favourite part of the show is telling stories.  Bruno called the dance powerful and beautiful.  Kaitlyn and Artem scored 30 points for their dance.

The couple that earned the lowest votes and scores are Johnny and Britt and have been eliminated from the competition.
