Tours are still on hold as the Covid-19 virus rages on around the world, but metal rockers Iron Maiden are bringing the tour to their fans in the form of a double disc live album.

“Nights of the Dead, Legacy of the Beast: Live in Mexico City” is set for a November 20 release.

The album was recorded during the band’s 2019 tour when the band performed in Mexico City over a three night period to sold out audiences.

The album is being offered as a digital download, as a 2 CD digipack, a deluxe 2 CD package with a hardcase book, a triple vinyl set, and a triple vinyl featuring the Mexican flag.

Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris spoke about the release saying, “when the final leg of our 2020 Legacy tour this summer had to be cancelled due to the COVID pandemic, the whole band was very disappointed and deflated and we know our fans felt the same.  We’d been really looking forward to bringing the show to even more countries and although we’ve been able to reschedule most of our European own-shows for 2021, we thought we’d take a listen to the recordings from the tour so far and see if we could create a definitive live album souvenir that everyone, everywhere could enjoy.”  Harris added that they had never released a live album from Mexico before.

Band manager Rod Smallwood stated, “when our 2020 tour got cancelled, putting together a live album seemed the obvious thing to do.”
