In the second race of a triple header weekend, the Xfinity Series kicks off their playoff season with the Alsco 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

After winning last week at Bristol, Chase Briscoe sits on the pole and will bring the field to green with Austin Cindric starting alongside on the front row.

NASCAR has planned a competition caution for the race on lap 20.

Stages one and two of the race are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps for a total of 200 laps around the mile and a half track.

With a late afternoon start, the drivers will have to deal with the setting sun and glare on the windshields.

Lap two the top five are Chase Briscoe, Austin Cindric, Ross Chastain, Noah Gragson, and Anthony Alfredo.

Lap six, Chase Briscoe has a lead of over half a second on Austin Cindric with Ross Chastain in third.

The first caution flag of the race comes out on lap eight when Kyle Weatherman gets into the wall with a steering issue. Matt Mills is the “lucky dog”.

Lap 14, Chase Briscoe brings the field down for the green flag restart with Austin Cindric alongside. Drivers get three wide across the track in a battle for the lead. Austin Cindric takes the lead with Ross Chastain is in second. Noah Gragson and Chase Briscoe battle for third.

Chase Briscoe reports a very loose condition in his car and falls to fifth.

Lap 17 Austin Cindric has a one second lead on Ross Chastain with Noah Gragson in third.

Lap 18, Austin Hill spins out to bring out the second caution flag of the race. Once again Matt Mills is the “lucky dog”.

NASCAR has announced that this caution will also serve as the competition caution.

Some of the drivers bring their cars down pit road for service but the leaders stay out.

Lap 24, Austin Cindric brings the field down for the green flag restart from the inside lane with Ross Chastain alongside on the outside. Austin Cindrc gets a push from Ryan Sieg and gets out in front for the lead. Ross Chastain charges from the outside lane to take the lead. Brandon Jones and Justin Allgaier make contact but the track stays green.

Lap 27, Ross Chastain leads the race with Ryan Sieg in second.

28, Ryan Sieg and Ross Chastain battle for the lead with Chastain holding on to the top spot and Ryan Sieg on his bumper.

Lap 30, Ross Chastain holds on to the lead with Ryan Sieg, Chase Briscoe, Noah Gragson, and Austin Cindric rounding out the top five.

Lap 33, Ross Chastain has a lead of less than half a second on Ryan Sieg with Chase Briscoe in third. There are 34 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 41, Chase Briscoe has a narrow lead on Ross Chastain, Ryan Sieg, Noah Gragson, and Anthony Alfredo round out the top five.

Lap 66, Chase Briscoe has a lead of over a second and a half on Ryan Sieg with Noah Gragson in third.

Lap 73, Noah Gragson passes Ryan Sieg for second with Chase Briscoe in the lead.

Lap 76, the top five are Chase Briscoe, Noah Gragson, Ryan Sieg, Austin Cindric, and Anthony Alfredo.

Leaders are encountering slower traffic on every lap. There are 21 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 78, Chase Briscoe continues to lead the race with Ryan Sieg in second and Austin Cindric in third.

Lap 81, the top five are Chase Briscoe, Noah Gragson, Austin Cindric, Ryan Sieg, and Anthony Alfredo with 20 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 84, Chase Briscoe has a third of a second lead on Noah Gragson; Austin Cindric is in third over two and a half seconds back.

After hitting the wall, Ross Chastain’s car is not running as well as it had earlier; he is just six points above the cut line in eighth place of the 12 playoff drivers.

While still in the upper 80’s, the track has begun to cool off and is affecting how the cars are handling.

Lap 114, Chase Briscoe has pulled out to a lead of two seconds on Noah Gragson; Austin Cindric, Justin Allgaier, and Brandonn Jones round out the top five with 18 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 117, Noah Gragson has cut into Chase Briscoe’s lead; Briscoe is now a second and a half in front of Gragson.

Lap 120, Chase Briscoe has increased his lead on Noah Gragson to just under two seconds; Austin Cindric is in third over three seconds bac; Justin Allgaier and Brandon Jones round out the top five.

Lap 122, Chase Briscoe’s lead is now over two seconds on Noah Gragson with Austin Cindric in third nearly four seconds back.

Lap 125, Chase Briscoe continues to increase his lead on Noah Gragson; he now has a three second lead on Gragson.

Lap 131, Chase Briscoe has pulled out to a lead of over three seconds on Noah Gragson; Austin Cindric, Justin Allgaier, and Brandon Jones round out the top five.

Lap 133, Chase Briscoe continues to pace the field and has pulled out to a lead of over four seconds on Noah Gragson.

Lap 137, Chase Briscoe is running away with the race, he now has a lead of over five seconds on Noah Gragson.

Lap 139, there are only 16 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 140, Noah Gragson has cut into Chase Briscoe;s lead; it is now just under five seconds.

Lap 143, the top five are Chase Briscoe, Noah Gragson, Austin Cindric, Justin Allgaier, and Ryan Sieg.

Lap 145, Harrison Burton brings his car down pit road to begin the cycle of green flag pit stops.

Lap 149, Chase Briscoe brings his car down pit road for his green flag pit stop and gives the lead over to Ryan Sieg.

Ryan Sieg slides through his pit stall and has to back up. The cooling air hose on his helmet has come out and he does not have any cool air coming into his head.

Michael Annett has yet to make his pit stop and is the new leader with Chase Briscoe in second.

Lap 155, there’s a tire out in the grass and brings out the caution flag. It’s a sticker tire. The tire came from Joe Graf’s pit stall.

The caution came at the most opportune time for leader Michael Annett who while in the lead was about to get lapped by Chase Briscoe on fresher tires.

Brandon Brown was the “lucky dog” putting 15 cars on the lead lap.

Thirty to go, Chase Briscoe has increased his lead to over two seconds on Austin Cindric.

With just 24 laps remaining in the race, Chase Briscoe continues to lead the race with Austin Cindric in second; Noah Gragson, Harrison burton, and Michael Annett round out the top five.

Twenty to go, Chase Briscoe is “driving it like he stole it” with a lead of over six and a half seconds on Austin Cindric.

Seventeen to go, Alex Labbe is very slow on the track trying to work his way down pit road.

With a lead of over six seconds, leader Chase Briscoe is reporting a vibration.

Four to go, Chase Briscoe leads the race with all four of the JR Motorsports cars in the top five.

The top five are Chase Briscoe, Noah Gragson, Daniel Hemric, Justin Allgaier, and Michael Annett.

Leading 163 laps, Chase Briscoe wins the race after sweeping the first two stages and winning the Las Vegas race in February. This is Briscoe’s eighth win of the season. Only Jack Ingram and Sam Ard have won eight races in a single season.

At the beginning of the season, Chase Briscoe reasoned With just 2that he would need to win eight races in the Xfinity Series if he was going to get a ride in the NASCAR Cup Series.
