The Gander RV Outdoors Truck Series kicks off a triple header weekend with the second race in round one of the playoffs at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the World of Westgate 200.

Brett Moffitt sits on the pole and will bring the field to green with Tyler Ankrum alongside on the front row.

While the drivers will be running under the lights, the temperatures are still high and it will be a hot night on the track.  At race start air temps were in the 90’s.

Stages one and two of the race are just 30 laps each with stage three lasting 74 laps for a total 134 laps around the mile and a half track.

Las Vegas native and NASCAR Cup Series driver Kurt Busch joins Michael Waltrip and Vince Welch in the broadcast booth for tonight’s race.

While Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin have dominated wins in the NASCAR Cup Series and Chase Briscoe has been dominate in the Xfinity Series, The Gander Truck Series has seen 10 different race winners so far this season.

NASCAR has called for a competition caution on lap 10.

Natalie Decker’s truck is being pushed to the garage with reports that she has not been medically cleared to run the race.  She will be listed as the last place driver in the race.

Conor Daly is making his debut Gander Truck Series start.  He and Travis Pastrana, who has not been in a truck for two years, have a friendly bet going.

Brett Moffitt brings the field down for the green flag start of the race and the drivers quickly get three and four wide across the track…and even five wide.

Sheldon Creed gives Brett Moffitt a push and Moffitt leads the first lap of the race.

Sheldon Creed passes Brett Moffitt for the lead of the race on lap two.

Lap three, the top five are Sheldon Creed, Brett Moffitt, Grant Enfinger, Tyler Ankrum, and Chandler Smith.

Lap five, Raphael Lessard takes his truck down pit road with some damage to the right side of his truck.

Lap six, Sheldon Creed has a lead of over a second on Brett Moffitt with Grant Enfinger in third; Tyler Ankrum and Zane Smith round out the top five.

Lap nine, Sheldon Creed continues to lead the race.  Jesse Iwuji had to make an unscheduled trip down pit road with radio issues and is now five laps down.

Lap eleven, NASCAR displays the yellow flag for the competition caution.  Leaders stay out but some drivers outside the top 10 bring their trucks down pit road for service including Ben Rhodes in ninth place.

Ben Rhodes has to make a second trip down pit road with a smoking truck.  There was some oil under the truck.

Sheldon Creed brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 15 and edges out Brett Moffitt for the lead as drivers get three and four wide across the track.

Lap 16, the top five are Sheldon Creed, Brett Moffitt, Grant Enfinger, Zane Smith, and Tyler Ankrum.

Lap 18, Chandler Smith gets slideways but saves the truck and the track stays green.

Lap 19, Sheldon Creed has a one second lead on Brett Moffitt; Grant Enfinger, Zane Smith, and Tyler Ankrum round out the top five.

Lap 25, Sheldon Creed continues to lead the race with a lead of over two seconds on Brett Moffitt; Grant Enfinger, Zane Smith, and Derek Kraus round out the top five. 

Ben Rhodes is moving through the field as the smoke appears to have gone away.  He has moved up to eighth place after restarting the race in 19th.

Lap 28, Sheldon Creed has a lead of over two seconds on Bett Moffitt with Grant Enfinger in third nearly four seconds back.

Sheldon Creed wins stage one by nearly four seconds for his sixth stage win of the season.

Sheldon Creed brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 38 and gets a push from Brett Moffitt to edge out Christian Eckes for the lead.

Lap 39, the top five are Sheldon Creed, Brett Moffitt, Zane Smith, Derek Kraus, and Christian Eckes.

Lap 40, Jordan Anderson brings his truck down pit road with a flat tire.  Anderson has his dog on the side of his truck.

With 27 trucks on the lead lap, Sheldon Creed has a half second lead on Brett Moffitt; Zane Smith, Derek Kraus, and Christian Eckes round out the top five.

Dawson Cram is out of the race.

Lap 45, Sheldon Creed has a one second lead on Brett Moffitt.

Lap 48, the top five are Sheldon Creed, Brett Moffitt, Zane Smith, Derek Kraus, and Christian Eckes.  Derek Kraus is the only driver in the top seven that is not in the playoffs.

Lap 50, Sheldon Creed has pulled out to a lead of two seconds on Brett Moffitt; Zane Smith, Derek Kraus, and Christian Eckes round out the top five.

Reports are that Ben Rhodes’ truck while running well on the track, may be slowly trying to blow the engine.

Lap 54, Sheldon Creed has a lead of nearly three seconds on Brett Moffitt; Zane Smith, Derek Kraus, and Ben Rhodes round out the top five.

Lap 55, Sheldon Creed has increased his lead to over three and a half seconds on Zane Smith.

Five laps remain in stage two; Sheldon Creed has a lead of nearly four seconds on Zane Smith.

Four laps remain in stage two; Sheldon Creed has pulled out to a lead of over four seconds on Zane Smith.

Two to go, Sheldon Creed has a lead of four and a half seconds on Zane Smith.

With 134 laps in stage three, the drivers cannot complete the stage on a single load of fuel and will have to make a pit stop.

Lap 72, Sheldon Creed passes Brett Moffitt to take second and aims for leader Christian Eckes.

Lap 74, Sheldon Creed takes the lead with Brett Moffit in second and Christian Eckes in third.

Lap 75, Sheldon Creed has a lead of nearly a second on Brett Moffitt; Derek Kraus, Christian Eckes, and Zane Smith round out the top five.  There are 25 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap 78, Time Viens has been posted by NASCAR for not making the minimum speed.

Lap 79, the top five are Sheldon Creed, Derek Kraus, Brett Moffitt, Johnny Sauter, and Christian Eckes.

Lap 81, Brett Moffitt has fallen to fourth place; Sheldon Creed is in the lead with Derek Kraus in second and Johnny Sauter in third.

Lap 82, Sheldon Creed has a lead of nearly two seconds on Derek Kraus.

Lap 83, Sheldon Creed now has a lead of nearly two and a half seconds on Derek Kraus; Johnny Sauter, Brett Moffitt, and Zane Smith round out the top five.

Ben Rhodes brings out the caution flag on lap 84 when he spins out and hits the wall after contact from Todd Gilliland.

On pit road, Ben Rhodes truck is on fire underneath the truck.  The crew gets the fire out and continues to make repairs.

Drivers come down pit road for what they hope is the last time on pit road.  Brett Moffit describes his truck as “evil”.  Sheldon Creed wins the race off of pit road.

Sheldon Creed brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 90 from the outside lane.  Austin Hill makes it a three wide battle for the lead.  Drivers get five wide across the track with Sheldon Creed taking the lead.

The caution flag comes out for the stalled truck of Jordan Anderson at the entrance to pit road.  Jordan Anderson is out of the race.

The top five are Sheldon Creed, Austin Hill, Christian Eckes, Zane Smith, and Derek Kraus.

Lap 92, Sheldon Creed has led 86 laps so far.

Sheldon Creed brings the field down for the green flag restart with 40 laps remaining in the race.  Sheldon Creed gets a push from Christian Eckes but it is Austin Hill that takes the lead with Stewart Friesen in second.  Sheldon Creed falls to seventh place.

With 38 laps to go the top five are Austin Hill, Stewart Friesen, Grant Enfinger, Sheldon Creed, and Zane Smith.

Sheldon Creed takes third from Grant Enfiger.

Drivers are getting four wide across the track.

With 32 laps to go, Austin Hill has a lead of over a second on Sheldon Creed.

Lap 195, Austin Hill has increased his lead to a second and a half on Sheldon Creed.

Lap 108, Austin Hill has a lead of over a second and a half on Sheldon Creed; Stewart Friesen, Chandler Smith, and Grant Enfinger round out the top five.

Lap 110, Sheldon Creed has begun to cut into the gap on leader Austin Hill.  Hill’s lead is down to under a second on Creed.

With 22 laps to go, Sheldon Creed is just a quarter of a second behind Austin Hill; Stewart Friesen, Chandler Smith, and Grant Enfinger round out the top five. 

Twenty to go, there are 21 trucks on the lead lap.  Austin Hill has increased his lead on Sheldon Creed to half a second.

Eighteen to go, Sheldon Creed has closed the gap on leader Austin Hill to under a quarter of a second.

Seventeen to go, Austin Hill continues to lead the race with Sheldon Creed closely behind.

Fifteen to go, Austin Hill is in the lead; Sheldon Creed, Stewart Friesen, Chandler Smith, and Tanner Gray round out the top five.

Sheldon Creed taps the wall but recovers and the track stays green.

Ten to go, Austin Hill holds on to the lead with Sheldon Creed in second; Stewart Friesen, Chandler Smith, and Tanner Gray round out the top five.

Only nine laps remain in the race, Austin Hill has a lead of over half a second on Sheldon Creed.

Seven to go, there are 18 trucks on the lead lap.  Sheldon Creed has closed the gap on Austin Hill to under half a second.

Tanner Gray takes fourth from Chandler Smith.

Six to go, Austin Hill’s lead is back to over half a second on Sheldon Creed.

Five to go, Austin Hill has a half second lead on Sheldon Creed.

Three to go, leader Austin Hill encounters slower traffic.
