Last week on “The Voice” the top 13 singers were revealed. Tonight they take the stage to perform for fan votes; the decisions are now in the hands of the fans.
The theme for this week is special dedications.
Again this season, all of the live performances will be available to stream on Apple Music. The artist with the most streams will have their votes multiplied by five.
Team Gwen’s 15 year old Joana with the Gloria Estefan song “Get on Your Feet” and brought the house to their feet. Host Carson Daly said that it was a great way to start the show. Blake noted that Joana seemed to have a great time on stage. Gwen noted that Joana nailed the performance.
Next up is Team Blake’s Ricky Duran with “You are the Best Thing”. Last week, Blake took his team to Nashville with him to perform in his club and see him perform (and receive an award) at the CMA Awards. Blake told his team that they will always be welcome on the stage at his place – Club Red. Carson said that it was effortless for Ricky to do the song. John noted that it seems like Ricky was born for the stage. Coach Blake noted that everybody he has encountered loves Ricky; adding that Ricky always delivers a solid performance.
Team Kelly’s Max Boyle chose to perform “Unaware” by Allen Stone – a song his family always requests at his gigs. John noted that Max took up a big challenge with a song that included a lot of falsetto. Kelly called Max gifted and talented.
Team Gwen’s Myracle with “I’m Your Baby Tonight” by Whitney Houston. Kelly called Myracle a champion for singing that song. Gwen called the performance perfect and incredible.
Team Legend’s Will sang “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz. Blake noted that he is amazed at how connected Will is with his songs. John noted that every week Will shows a different side.
Team Blake’s Kat performs the traditional song “Danny Boy”. Kat noted that her grandpa used to sing the song in Gaelic. Gwen called Kat magical with a unique voice. Blake said that Kat is one of the most important singers he has ever worked with on the show.
Team Legend’s Katie Kadan sang “I’m Going Down” by Mary J Blige. With all of the coaches on their feet, John was jumping up and down yelling yeah. Carson said that it felt like the finale; adding that if Jennifer Hudson had been in the house, there would be some shoes flying. Kelly called Katie a force. John called it the best performance this season.
Team Blake’s Cali chose to perform “Butterflies” by Kacey Musgraves. Saying that she’s a fan, Gwen said that was the kind of song she would buy. Blake noted that playing with her voice and falsetto is Cali’s lane; adding that she gave a great performance.
Team Kelly’s Shane Q performed “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. Carson said that Shane did a great job. Blake called Shane incredible; adding that he is a front runner in the competition. Kelly noted that Shane connected this week; adding that Shane is incredibly talented.
Team Kelly’s 14 year old duo Hello Sunday made history by being the first artist to win the wild card instant save. The duo sang the Jessie J song “Mamma Knows Best”. Carson said that they did a great job. John said that the duo is impressive; adding this was their best performance and fun to watch. Kelly called them so talented and so young; adding that she would love to sing with them.
Team Legend’s Marybeth chose to perform “Go Rest High on that Mountain” for her grandpa who died just before she came to the show. Marybeth broke down at the end of the song. Blake said that she did a great job. John called it a beautiful and wonderful performance.
Team Kelly’s Jake chose the Loggins and Mesina song “Danny’s Song” to daughter Macey. Saying that she’s a fan, Gwen called the song choice perfect. Kelly called Jake magical; saying that he can sing anything.
Team Gwen’s Rose Short closes out the night of music with “I Turn to You” by former “The Voice” coach Christina Aguilera and dedicates the song to her coach. Carson noted that the room was mesmerized. Gwen called Rose so cool and talented.
On Tuesday’s results show two singers will be eliminated from the competition.
