Boston rockers Aerosmith have been named the MusiCares Person of the Year for 2020. Aerosmith is only the second group to receive the honour, Fleetwood Mac was the first band.
The Recording Academy chooses a person or band each year as the Person of the Year in commemoration of their contributions and impact on music and philanthropic endeavours.
MisiCarez is an organization that provides aid in times of need – whether it be financial, personal or medical.
Along with playing music over the past 50 years, the four time Grammy winning band sponsors a number of programs including addiction recovery, senior housing, and leadership activities.
The rockers will be honoured on January 24 with a gala event that includes a tribute concert and silent auction.
