After the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway on March 25 NASCAR officials assessed penalties to three teams hen it was discovered that not all of the lug nuts were properly secured.

The number three Richard Childress Racing car driven by Austin Dillon, the number 36 Front RowMotorsports car driven by Matt Tifft, and the number 47 JTG Daugherty Racing car driven by Ryan Preece were all found to have one lug nut not properly secured.

As a result of the infractions, the crew chiefs for the nimbler three car – Danny Stockman -, the number 36 team – Mike Kelley-, and the number 47 team – Tristan Smith – were each fined $10,000.

After the Gander Outdoors Truck Series race on March 24, crew chief Ryan Fugle for the race winning Kyle Busch Motorsports number 51 truck driven by Kyle Busch was fined $2,500 after NASCAR found that one of the lug nuts on the truck was not properly secured.
